Taking on land, sea and air!
Here at Holeshot PR, we have always been proud to push our creative boundaries, but even by our standards, our recent Kawasaki project was a challenge! Having worked with the Japanese brand since 2020, we’ve done lots of cool activations, but late last year, we were challenged to help them showcase the entire range of Kawasaki machinery – including motorcycles, utility vehicles and Jet Skis.
Rather than just creating a sleek advert showing the various models, we knew it had to be something that would captivate viewers from the very start. After a planning session at the London Bike Shed in Shoreditch ahead of our Christmas Party, an idea was born: One man and one epic journey, all powered by Kawasaki!
Utilising Davo’s famous laidback approach, we wondered what would happen if he (quite believably!) missed his connecting flight to the island. From the moment he arrives in the UK, Davo embarks on an epic adventure that incorporates the Kawasaki Versys 1100, Mule Pro DXT, Ultra 310LX Jet Ski and KX450 all being used in real-world situations.
Filming across multiple terrains and disciplines presented huge logistical challenges — not to mention the unpredictable weather and the technical coordination. However, thanks to the dedication of everyone involved, from our Holeshot motorcycle PR team to Davo, Kawasaki UK, Isle of Man TT, enduro ace David Knight, Hoon TV, and lots more, the resulting video quickly gained traction online.
At the time of writing this story the video has already surpassed one million views on Facebook alone, and the combined social stats are only set to grow with Kawasaki branches worldwide utilising the video across their own social channels.
While the digital age is seeing attention spans decreasing, this project shows that bold ideas, teamwork, and storytelling are still key to PR in the digital world.
