HOLESHOT PR CASE STUDY
Back in November of 2018, three days before the annual Motorcycle Live show, we were busy prepping press packs and collating a plan for our many clients who were exhibiting at the event… when we received a phone call from the largest electric motorcycle brand in the UK, Super Soco, saying they had been let down by their existing PR agency and would we be able help them unveil their latest models at the show?
Never one to turn down a challenge, it was all hands on deck to get things turned around in just three days – from learning all about the new models, creating in-depth press packs, getting photos and videos sorted and, of course, lining up journalists from every major motorcycle magazine for a visit.
With everything in place for the opening day, visitors to the show over the weekend were able to learn all about the new CUx scooter and the TC Max whilst on ‘Media Monday’ we had visits from MCN, Evening Standard, O2W, Visordown, Motorcycle Sport & Leisure, British Dealer News, Motorcycle Trader and Motorcycle Monthly.
Impressed with how quickly we were able to activate their attendance, Soco retained us to take over their social media and create a full UK press launch of the two new machines. Our first task was to create engaging content across the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts – regularly populating it with posts to build an active community (which resulted in doubling the number of followers within 6 months).
With both machines the ideal solution for commuters tired of expensive and crammed trains and tubes, we jumped on the narrow window the TC Max prototype was in the country to create a short piece of video around the streets of London.
Not only did the video act as a great piece of social media content that was shared out by every other Super Soco country page, but it enabled us to introduce mainstream press to the brand, scheduling a number of test rides.
With the homologated models arriving in April, we’ve been busy getting journalists out test riding the machines with coverage already having appeared in the Daily Mirror, City AM (where we got on the front page!), The Guardian/Observer, MCN and Motorcycle Sport & Leisure… with many more lined up so stayed tuned to see where else it appears!
